After a lot of drama, I am pleased to share that I graduated! I would like to take this opportunity to share:

A list of reasons why I chose Joint International Psychology Program (JIPP) at Chulalongkorn University at the beginning.

1. Back then, I decided to seek and apply for a Bachelor of Science degree in order to pay respect to Thai citizen’s taxes; sponsored me for a whole 3 years in my high school life as a full-scholarship student under the Ministry of Science of Thailand.

2. However, it must be multidisciplinary and be able to be applied in a real-life context as it is my key strength — a multi-lens viewer and easy digest communicator — and what I am passionate which I found during my scientific projects in high school. Finishing research regarding solar flare in grade 10, then having five advisors — university lecturers from different faculties — for only one medical science project in grade 11 inspired me a lot (not including presenting sugar-tolerance in mice research conducted by dentists in grade 12).

3. It must be a field that is still immature in Thailand (as of 2017 in my opinion). I did aim to be a university lecturer and researcher to gain knowledge and expertise from Thailand and abroad and become top-notch in a particular field and return to grow such area in my home country. I even presented in the interview round that I wanted to found my own research institute to make Thailand the best neuroscience research hub in Asia-Pacific. Also, I wanted to communicate Psychology hidden in daily life, such as in commercials and advertisements or political strategies agencies and politicians use to influence and manipulate people.

4. Moreover, I accept that back then, I could not find an absolute answer to which faculty I would choose better than this. I wanted to learn a lot. I wish to find a faculty that allows me to study all biology (neuroscience and behavior, to be precise), chemistry, environmental science, sociology, economics, political science, populations, communication arts, architecture and design, business, etc., in a single program.

5. Such faculty I seek must open for a wide range of job opportunities in Thailand and abroad. Besides being a university faculty member, I also want to be an HR consultant, human resources business partner (and a billionaire who spends whole days observing the world from my own safe house, of course.)

That is why I chose the Joint International Psychology Program, a dual-degree of B.Sc. Psychological Science, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, and B.A. extended major in Psychology and minor in Sociology, University of Queensland, Australia. The program was designed to groom a student to be a researcher in behavioral neuroscience with an extended perspective regarding multiculturalism, cross-cultural mindset and management skills, and understanding of people and society.

That is why I participated in many activities with different positions: secretary, recreational activities leader, MC, camp content director, event coordinator, writing editor and judge, sales professional, university council’s HR president, delegates for political entities, advisor, speaker, etc.

That is why I have interned in many companies, engaged in many organizations, and tried to connect with many experts and talents.

That is why I identify who I want to be and seek a job I can perform as a “wizard” — a multi (or anti-) disciplinary multipotentialite, expertise but well-rounded, independent, challenging, and full of passion, creativity, autonomy, and authority.

That is why my journey as an amateur futurist has begun.

Now, I am going to move forward to the next chapter of life, still unsure about the VUCA (and BANI, whatever) future “s.” However, I am more than ready to challenge what are coming next!

Appreciate all opportunities (and threats) and people comes by. All of you inspired me and shaped me into who I am today.

Thank you to all contributors and stakeholders -my family, friends, all the bosses and colleagues, enemies (?) and strangers.

Salute to me, myself, and I.
Well done, Nuttawut — you have survived (for now).
